Our Story

It Started With One Stray Cat

In the lanes of Katraj - Kondhwa, Pune, Stena Shah and Yakshni Shah began feeding stray cats and kittens. What started as a quiet act of compassion grew into a registered Section 8 company β€” Manee Foundation.

"We did not plan to build an NGO. We just could not walk past suffering without doing something about it."

Soon, animal welfare expanded into a larger vision β€” rural India, clean energy, economic justice. Ms. Marjaan Shah joined as Director, bringing new energy and direction to the foundation's growing mission.

Today, Manee Foundation is backed by the Stenjaan Group, which has allocated 26% non-dilutable equity from each of its companies to the Foundation β€” giving us permanent, business-backed sustainability unlike any other NGO in India.
